Jessica Torelli is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education at the University of Georgia. Prior to earning her Ph.D. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University, she was a public school teacher and practicing behavior analyst. Dr. Torelli’s research seeks to improve the use of practices that prevent and treat challenging behavior to facilitate children’s positive academic and behavioral outcomes. Her prevention research focuses on developing sustainable, resource-efficient professional development models to promote teachers’ implementation of positive behavior supports. Her intensive intervention research focuses on advancing assessment and treatment methods for persistent challenging behavior to improve their contextual fit for use in classroom settings.
