Kimberly Jenkins is an assistant professor in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a certified speech-language pathologist. Prior to joining the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences faculty, she worked as a speech-language pathologist with dual language learners in early intervention, preschool, and elementary school settings. Her research interest is the acquisition and development of language in typically and atypically developing dual language learners, particularly children acquiring Spanish and English. Additional research interests include assessment and treatment of language disorder in culturally and linguistically diverse populations and the intersection of language and cognitive development. Her current work systematically examines the development of grammatical skill in Spanish-English dual language learners longitudinally.
