Nedim Yel, Ph.D., Data Manager at Boston VA Research Institute and owner of Data Analysis and Statistical Solutions (https://www.statisticalsolutions.org/), plays a pivotal role in various educational and scientific projects. His contributions significantly impact the intersection of education, healthcare outcomes, technology, and justice. As a methodologist, Dr. Yel's expertise is vital in supporting two grants from IES. The first, Project PRIME2 (Planning Realistic Intervention Implementation and Maintenance by Educators), focuses on educational interventions. The second grant aims to improve student-teacher relationships and outcomes for autistic children through a randomized controlled trial. Additionally, Dr. Yel is involved in an NSF-funded CAREER grant that investigates factors influencing STEM persistence among graduate women of color, with a special focus on mental health aspects. Beyond academic research, Dr. Yel is deeply committed to promoting equity in education, access to justice, and improved healthcare outcomes. He and his colleagues published a report, ""Accessing Justice with Zoom: Experiences and Outcomes in Online Civil Courts,"" which explores the impact of conducting civil court proceedings online, providing critical insights into how technology reshapes the legal landscape. His advocacy extends to working with the California Department of Education to bridge the digital divide and initiatives to diversify the teaching and legal professions. Dr. Yel holds a doctoral degree in Measurement, Statistics, and Methodological Studies from Arizona State University and recently completed a prestigious two-year fellowship with the Strategic Data Project at Harvard University. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys hiking, camping, and peaceful walks near water, finding balance in nature.
