Theresa A. Garfield, Ed.D., is a Professor of Special Education at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Theresa serves on national committees in various leadership capacities. She has served as the Interim Director of Graduate Studies and Director of a three-million-dollar PPOHA grant. She is active in research about efficacy, special education leadership, accessibility, and improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. In addition to her vast service to the profession and university, she is an award-winning teacher educator. She previously served as department chair at a different institution and was an elementary self-contained classroom special educator for students in an urban setting who had extensive service needs.
