Victoria VanUitert, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of special education at Bowling Green State University. She earned her PhD in Special Education from the University of Virginia. Her work focuses on (a)developing and evaluating interventions to enhance the social-emotional and academic success and well-being of neurodivergent individuals (e.g., autistic, with ADHD, with learning disabilities) and (b) preparing pre- and in-service K-12 teachers and university professors to provide inclusive, affirming, and effective learning experiences for their students. Previously, she was an elementary-school teacher in inclusive classroom settings in northern Virginia. Through this work, Victoria hopes to help educators and students foster inclusive, affirming learning environments that promote student belonging and success.
