Dr. Brianne Tomaszewski is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry with the TEACCH Autism Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Sciences in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University. She completed a T32 Postdoctoral Training in Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on using community-participatory research methods to (a) develop assistive technology to support individuals with intellectual disability engage in meaningful community participation and (b) evaluation of evidence-based programs across the lifespan for individuals with intellectual disability. She is the PI on several federally-funded grants focused on transition to adulthood, employment, postsecondary education, community participation, and physical activity. Her future work aims to optimize community-based interventions through adaptive designs.
